Artists, especially those who choose object manipulation as their speciality, develop a certain view on objects. STICK – FABRIC OF CIRCUS sets itself the task of examining the „costume“ from this perspective as well: What if the body shell itself carries the object, becomes the object itself, or significantly influences the manipulation of the object because it is part of it? The costume becomes a flexible object that enters into a dialogue with the body.
In STICK the three artists (Anna Weszelovszky, Christiane Hapt, Sebastian Berger) interweave the skills of fabric and the skills of a circus artist. They work again with strong visuals and contrast in movement and appearance. The research focused on physical boundaries and how fabric can restrain or enriches them.
